About the team

Tik Tok Search-Multimodal Team focuses on developing large model-based search technologies to serve users across multiple languages and countries worldwide. We leverage large language models (LLMs) and multimodal large models (MLLMs) trained on massive datasets to optimize our search algorithms, enhancing key aspects such as relevance. Our technical innovations are directly applied to Tik Tok’s search business, continuously improving the global user experience.

1. Participate in the core research and development of our international video search engine, leveraging large language models (LLMs) and multimodal large models (MLLMs) with hundreds of billions of parameters to drive innovative upgrades in search algorithms and deliver a world-class intelligent search experience;

2. Optional directions include:

• (1) Advance LLM technologies (including pre-training, reinforcement learning, RAG, and CoT) for diverse search scenarios to improve relevance, recency, and other key aspects.
• (2) Utilize MLLMs to enhance multimodal retrieval capabilities. Engage in the research and development of video search and related algorithms, including video content understanding, visual representation learning, and multimodal reasoning;
• (3) Apply large-scale models to design personalized search algorithms that understand user intent and deliver tailored search results;
• (4) Build reliable, low-latency online search services with large-scale data to ensure stability and superior user experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in Search or Large Models (LLM/MLLM).
• Solid coding skills and fundamental knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Linux development environment and skilled in C++ and Python.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Publications in top-tier journals or conferences are a plus.
• Experience winning ACM-ICPC medals is a plus.
