Software Engineer - Singapore Office

Be My Guest  is hiring for a software engineer, based in its headquarters within Singapore's central business district.

Be My Guest  is a travel technology company and distribution platform that facilitates online sales of attractions, tours and activities products (travel activities). Our Distribution Network enables B2B transactions between travel activity operators and online and offline travel agents as well as other travel companies. Our Booking System (Xplore) automates and captures B2C transactions on the operators’ own websites, ticket counters and other direct sales channels.

• Help build and maintain complex, fast, and scalable applications.
• Get involved in estimating and delivering development projects to a high standard.
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the team to plan, coordinate, and deliver work throughout a project s life cycle.
• Contribute to the overall design and development of the products we build and support, with a focus on scalability, usability, maintainability, and performance.

Here are a few of the skills you ll be using in your position. You will need to have experience of and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how such software systems are engineered.

• Proficiency in PHP with extensive experience working with the Laravel Framework.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and SOAP services.
• Proven experience in integrating third-party APIs, handling data exchange between systems, and managing API rate limits and throttling.
• Experience with API versioning, ensuring backward compatibility and smooth transitions during upgrades.
• Solid understanding of error handling and API response management, including the use of appropriate HTTP status codes.
• Proficient in working with cURL, Postman, or other API testing tools.
• Proficient with Git for version control and collaboration in a team environment.

• Ideally a minimum of 5 years experience
• You must have a good command of English, both written and spoken, to be able to read technical documentation and communicate with the rest of the team;
• You must be an enthusiastic and a continuous learner.
