  • Technical Leadership. Define and execute AI engineering strategy and technical roadmap. Architect scalable AI/ML infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Lead design reviews and establish engineering best practices for AI systems. Ensure system reliability, performance, and security across AI applications.
  • Team Management & Development. Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-10 AI engineers. Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and technical coaching. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Information delivery & analytics. State‑of‑the‑art expertise across, Large Language Model (LLM) Integration, prompt engineering strategies and templates, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and agentic system etc.
  • AI Ops. Responsible for integration, deployment and monitoring of Generative AI products and solutions. Enabling data architecture and delivery of data‑analytics AI platforms and solutions on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid ensuring adherence and conformance to Nomura standards and policies.
  • Be a trusted partner. Shape the information & analytics agenda at Nomura, and work with all of Nomura's businesses in laying out their information & analytics adoption roadmaps.
  • Risk Mindset:
    Familiar with risk and controls frameworks and ability to operate with a control mindset.
Core Skills Requirement
  • Previous experience in designing and developing AI agents or chatbots using Large Language Models (LLM), RAG, and agentic frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience in building context‑aware dialogue systems with multi‑turn conversation management features.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining APIs and SDKs for integration of Generative AI services.
  • Experience in developing and deploying scalable, fault‑tolerant microservices and server‑side APIs using modern frameworks and best practices.
  • Proven experience in deployment automation using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab) and applying Dev Ops methodologies and enterprise integration standards.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Unix for AI and data processing workflows.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS EC2, EMR or similar tools with ability to drive design and data model discussions, hybrid data architecture.
  • Proficiency in React with hands‑on experience in UI development a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with global and cross‑functional teams across different regions and time zones to deliver AI solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent AI projects and meet delivery timelines in dynamic environments.
  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations of senior management.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and present complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to assess technical problems, evaluate data‑driven insights, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Experience reviewing system requirements, identifying optimization opportunities, and proposing enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
Education And Experience
  • At least 4‑year Bachelor's degree in quantitative fields with minimum of 10 years of experience in AI/ML engineering with 3+ years in leadership, full‑stack engineering, preferably in financial organizations or Masters in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or similar).
  • Experience of working with a multi‑cultural, multi‑disciplined, globally dispersed teams.
  • Professional certifications in AI/ML frameworks, cloud technologies, or Dev Ops tools (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Tensor Flow, or Kubernetes) are advantageous.
