UnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke’s offers a full range of services and programs, including a state-of-the-art surgical center, premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. St. Luke’s College provides health system–based education for careers in health care.

• Annual visit volume = 31,000
• Average patients per day = 89
• Average 1.5–1.9 patients per hour
• 24/7 hospitalist program responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
• 40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day
• Schedule:
  
  12–15 ten-hour shifts per month
• Level 3 Trauma Center
• 22 ED beds + 12 bed Clinical Decision Unit (managed by APPs) + 10 bed fast track + 2 trauma bays
• Scribes available
• No call; good work/life balance
• Team-oriented care to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly, and collaborative in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

• MD or DO
• BE/BC in Emergency Medicine
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Current and unrestricted authority to prescribe and administer medications as needed
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
