About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our growing team at Thompson Solutions Group. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping project success by delivering accurate and thorough cost estimates for electrical work across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:Analyze project plans and specifications to perform precise quantity take-offs
Use estimating software to develop comprehensive project cost proposals
Prepare detailed scope proposals for owners, clients, and potential contractors
Track bid results, maintain bid board interests, and monitor upcoming opportunities
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing and forecast commodities
- Collaborate with field leaders and project managers to break down job costs and create detailed breakouts for project turnover meetings
High School diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering preferredPrior electrical experience preferred but not required
Strong organizational and time management skills
Solid understanding of electrical construction principles, codes, and systems
Familiarity with various estimating methods (hard bid, GMP, conceptual budgeting, etc.)
Proficient in computer use; experience with electrical estimating software is a plus
Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners
Strong math skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
