Job PurposeThe IT Specialist I is a member of our IT Service Desk working in our office and will be responsible for providing remote and on‑site support of client’s computers, servers, and network infrastructure. As a member of our Service Desk team, they will provide a high level of customer service through verbal, written, and in‑person communication and respond to inbound client service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Compensation,Benefits & Perks
- Base Pay: $40,000 - $50,000 per year
- Consistent Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. schedule with occasional on‑call

- Log and process service requests from customers via telephone and online ticketing system.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issues with client computers, servers, devices, peripherals, and networking equipment – both remotely (from the Sioux Falls office) and on‑site at client’s facilities.
- Install and configure hardware components and software applications.
- Perform routine hardware and software maintenance on client computers, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Ensure that customer needs are being met through timely follow‑through and provide a high‑quality customer experience through a professional demeanor.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation of services and time spent servicing customers.
- Collaborate with other team members to help identify, develop, and document processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- 1+ year of end‑user support experience in a technology related field, supporting client hardware, software, workstations, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite & Microsoft 365, and computer hardware components.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with ticket management and remote monitoring and management tools.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with team members on projects, problem‑solving, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Self‑motivated and able to operate independently, while balancing multiple projects, priorities, and meeting client deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact, instruct, and support end‑users with varying levels of technical experience.
Orientation will be provided upon hire. Ongoing professional training (in‑house, webinars, and applicable off‑site third‑party training/technology conferences) will be provided by Catalyst IT. Catalyst IT requests that you provide self‑directed training through reading, research, webinars, and other applicable media.
Requirements- Pre‑Employment Background Check
- Active Driver’s License with auto insurance coverage or the ability to obtain insurance coverage
- Knowledge areas include computer technical support, Microsoft workstation environments (Windows 7, 8, 10, Office applications), Microsoft server environments (Active Directory, Terminal Services), Cloud experience – Office 365, Email – Office 365, Google, Email server environments, Networking (routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless), Anti‑virus, Anti‑SPAM and Anti‑Spyware, Backup Solutions, Virtual Machine environments (VMware)
