Overview
The FSQA Technician assists with the direction, planning, supervision and control of all aspects of plant/corporate Food Safety & Quality operations, including the development, training, implementation and reporting of QA/HACCP into facility processes; monitor and maintain compliance with USDA regulations and requirements; consistently implement requirements for the highest standard of food safety and quality for products and services. The FSQA Supervisor will assume the responsibilities of the FSQA Technician in the event of absence or incapacity.
Responsibilities- Initiative, adaptability, and leadership skills are necessary for success in the position. Must have a team player attitude; ability to resolve conflict is desirable.
- Maintain accurate documentation on paper forms or electronic auditing platforms.
- Read and interpret corporate product specifications.
- Pull/observe a random sample to assess true results rather than selecting pieces to pass or fail.
- Work without direct supervision.
- Learn FSQA monitoring responsibilities for Kill and Cut side operations.
- Perform various FSQA and internal audits; online inspection may be part of the audit process, with the potential for increased audits if trends or problems arise.

Obtain HACCP certification. - Perform other tasks assigned by FSQA management as business needs progress.
- Cross-train and rotate to other roles within the department including NSIS Sorter (ensure appropriate JSA reviewed and signed off on).
- Education and/or experience: combination preferred; reasonable accommodations available to enable essential functions.
- Communication skills: respectful conduct with teammates, production, and upper management; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Language:
English required; ability to communicate with management and others inside and outside the organization. - Mathematical skills: basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make decisions with sound judgment.
- Other skills: familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word; basic computer skills to generate letters, procedures, spreadsheets and graphs.
- Physical demands: stand, walk, move about the facility; occasionally lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds; climb ladders and platforms; enter confined spaces; wear safety equipment; use knives when cross training for NSIS Sorter; work in office and production environments with varying temperatures and noise; occasional visits to customer and supplier facilities.
