Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa, invites applications for the position of Project Coordinator. This position will support At Home in Siouxland: A Humanities Collaboratory for Displacement and Belonging. This public and digital humanities project, funded by the Mellon Foundation, studies historical and ongoing displacement and home-making in our region, among Latina/o/x, African(-American), Indigenous, and European communities. This is a ¾ to full-time temporary 3-year grant funded position through 2027 (30 months).
This individual reports to the Project Director and works on campus.
The priority deadline for application is April 11, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Sustain collaborative and meaningful relationships with community partner organizations and residents in the Siouxland area;Support day-to-day project operations including scheduling and facilitating meetings and events, documenting project activities, maintaining project timelines, completing IRB protocols, managing project expenses;Develop project documents and communications including grant reports, public promotion materials, monthly newsletters, social media and web content in collaboration with university departments and external professionals;Manage project collaborative workspace and technology; train and support students, faculty, and community members in the use of project equipment; and manage data generated in the context of project activities;Represent the project to members of the university and community.Skills and Qualifications:
College degree required; a BA in a humanities discipline, or experience and interest in humanities methods preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in the context of reciprocal and culturally aware relationships.Experience or awareness of Siouxland community histories, cultures, and its public and non-profit organizations.Experience in project management.Attention to detail, organizational and collaboration skills, professionalism.Fluency in written and spoken English supplemented by the ability to communicate in Spanish, French, Lakota, Lingala, or an African or Indigenous language.Competency in standard office and collaboration software (ex. Microsoft Office, Google Suite), project management software (ex. ), and digital media platforms (Adobe).Proficiency in data storage and retrieval using local and cloud-based hardware; digitization of analog humanities materials.Strong written and oral communication skills.Successful completion of criminal background check verification is required.
