American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience.

• 4A Surg/Onc unit providing care for orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active RN license (IA or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• NIHSS certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
• 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience required
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• Required experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips
• Chemo drip experience required if certified
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required for consideration
• One supervisory reference/performance evaluation from within the last two years required for consideration

• Level 3 Trauma Center setting
• Contributes professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Winter holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited time-off requests permitted during the winter holiday period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; prior travel experience preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market within the past 12 months unless their prior work was itself a travel assignment
