American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for night shifts at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:4, occasionally up to 1:5
• Treats conditions including CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating required to ED and all inpatient units, including across local campuses within the same discipline
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact) required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to PCU required
• Supervisory reference or performance evaluation completed within the last 2 years required

• Deliver professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team in a high-acuity PCU setting
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the November and December holiday blackout periods
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible for travel assignments at this or other UPH facilities within the past 12 months
