Shift and contract details

• Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (days, 0700 start)
• Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 per week
• Weekend/holiday rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Orientation dates: November 9, November 23, or December 7
• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Local candidates: Not accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
• First-time travelers: Accepted

Unit and patient population

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 6SW
• Patient ratio: 1:4, potentially 1:5
• Floating: Required to the ED and all inpatient areas; may float to other local campuses within the same discipline

• Patient conditions/procedures: CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis

  Required qualifications and documents
• At least 1 year of nursing experience
• Active Iowa or compact nursing license, verified through Nursys
• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• Active NIHSS certification
• Mandatory reporter requirement
• Valid driver's license
• Work history
• PCU-specific skills checklist
• One supervisory reference form completed within the past 2 years

• Must work 2 of 3 holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
• Maximum of one day off request during November 25–29.
• Maximum of one day off request during December 23–27.
