American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg Surgery-Urology unit caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays
• Patient population includes prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgery, and thyroidectomy cases
• Administers Heparin drips
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating to other med/surg tele units required, including across local campuses

• Active RN license (Iowa or Compact)
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS certification
• 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience required
• Valid driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Tele required
• Supervisory reference or performance evaluation completed within the last 2 years required

• Provide professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team for post-surgical patients
• Work at a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or float pool PRN) are restricted from working travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
