American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring 2+ years of med-surg experience and an active Iowa or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg unit (3A Medical) within a Level 3 Trauma Center hospital
• General medical patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week scheduling options
• Floating required to 4A and 5A units, and potentially to other local campuses within the same discipline
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact)
• Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• 2+ years of med-surg experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Heparin drip experience preferred
• Skills checklist specific to med-surg required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Contribute clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary team in the provision and management of patient care
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Winter holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited time-off requests permitted during holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or float pool PRN) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
