SFC Civil Constructors
, a division of Journey Group, is seeking a full‑time Bridge Construction Project Coordinator
. The coordinator will support the Project Manager and Field Superintendent with day‑to‑day operations of construction projects, collaborate to enhance work processes that impact environmental, health, and safety compliance and improve reliability, quality, production, and cost efficiency.
- Provide daily support to the project management team and assist with overall project operations.
- Participate in preconstruction activities such as takeoff, site set‑up, and preliminary scheduling.
- Coordinate and maintain project documentation, ensuring timely updates for the Superintendent.
- Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and RFPs, including logs and distribution of updates.
- Communicate and implement plan and specification changes throughout construction.
- Support safety compliance efforts with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and Safety Director.
- Assist with scheduling tasks, including CPM, procurement, and weekly look‑ahead schedules.
- Handle project reporting, meeting minutes, daily logs, and on‑site photo documentation.
- Contribute to project close‑out activities, including as‑builts, final inspections, certifications, and punch list completion.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, with integrity and cultural sensitivity.
- Positive attitude and mature leadership.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Knowledge of general safe work practices.
- Proficiency with electronic and mobile information tools.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
- Independent thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and HCSS products.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and insurability evidence.
- A minimum of 18 years of age.
- Field work on job sites 75 % of the time; limited office time 25 %.
- Work includes inspection of details at close range and communication of accurate information.
- Movement on uneven job sites and sometimes outdoors.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lb.
- Use of hand and power tools; safe handling of equipment.
- Travel to other locations (mostly day trips).
