GENERALSUMMARY
The successful candidate for this full-time faculty position within the School of Nursing will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to student mentorship, and active engagement in scholarship and service. Faculty are expected to support the university’s mission by integrating Christian faith and learning, promoting ethical nursing practice, and preparing students for compassionate, competent service in diverse healthcare settings. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the professional and spiritual development of future nurse leaders.
MAJORFUNCTIONS
- COMMITMENT TO EFFECTIVE TEACHING. Faculty provide excellence in nursing education, reflected in innovative, student-centered teaching practices. Effective teaching in this role includes fostering critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional integrity in a diverse student population.
- Faculty are expected to be versed in teaching courses on-ground, online, accelerated, and traditional nursing programs.
- Teaching responsibilities include both classroom, laboratory, and clinical nursing.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. Continuous learning and growth in nursing education, clinical practice, research, and leadership are required. Faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and education through ongoing professional enrichment while demonstrating expertise in the content area.
- SUPPORT OF INSTITUTIONAL MISSION. The successful candidate can articulate a commitment to upholding the university’s values, vision, and faith-based mission through teaching, service, scholarship, and engagement with students, faculty, and staff.
- INSTITUTIONAL SERVICE. Participation in the life of the University through service on committees, task forces, student mentorship, program development, accreditation efforts, among other activities, is required.
- INTERACTIONS WITH STUDENTS. Regular engagement with students is expected through teaching, academic advising, and participation in non-teaching nursing school activities, such as the white coat ceremony, nursing orientation, and more, in a manner that reflects the university’s faith-based mission – demonstrating respect, empathy, integrity, and a commitment to holistic student development.
- GROWTH AND ASSESSMENT. Demonstrate ongoing commitment to the evaluation and continuous improvement of teaching effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and program quality through participation in accreditation work, collaboration with new and existing nursing faculty, and participation with other faculty in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
