Teacher Aide

Overview

USD Head Start is seeking a Teacher Aide for the Head Start classroom in the Harrisburg School District. Duties include supervision of children ages 3-5 in a classroom and playground environment and providing support to the Head Start teacher to assist children in reaching developmental milestones and program goals.

• Full-time, 9.5 months (Aug. 16 – May 31 annually)
• 40 hours per week: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday – Friday

  Harrisburg School District, Sioux Falls area
• Starting salary:
  Starting rate $16.27; commensurate with qualifications, plus benefits

• Must pass fingerprint background check

• Supervise children ages 3-5 in the classroom and playground environments

• Assist with daily activities and classroom management as needed

• Child Development Associates Credential preferred
• Experience with young children required

• Must pass fingerprint background check
• Typical work hours are 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday – Friday with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch
