The salary for this position is $50/ plus. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

The Pole Inspection Supervisor provides direct management, technical oversight, and quality control for multiple utility pole inspection and treatment crews. Crewmen, Inspectors, and Foremen assigned to the program report to the Supervisor. This role is responsible for field readiness, staffing, production, customer-specification compliance, formal QC, corrective action, training, treatment/equipment logistics, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day field coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise multiple pole inspection/treatment crews and directly manage assigned Crewmen, Inspectors, and Foremen.
- Coordinate work packages, staffing, schedules, production priorities, equipment, materials, treatment inventory, and field logistics across assigned areas.
- Conduct job-start meetings and verify personnel qualifications, training, licenses, equipment, materials, and required documentation before deployment.
- Serve as the primary field escalation point for assessment, sounding, boring, excavation, decay evaluation, treatment, restoration, tagging, access, and specification questions.
- Perform or coordinate formal QC inspections and reinspections; document findings, provide coaching, and ensure corrective actions, retraining, and rework are completed when required.
- Monitor production, quality, treatment rates, rework, safety, attendance, access constraints, and schedule performance; identify trends and implement preventive actions.
- Enforce client/company requirements for OSHA, DOT, electrical safety, 811/One Call, ground disturbance, PPE, traffic/public protection, environmental controls, pesticide handling, and stop-work authority.
- Coordinate with client representatives, Field Services management, GIS/data, QA/QC, Safety, HR/recruiting, and other support functions; communicate risks and schedule impacts promptly.
- Minimum three (3) years of direct wood utility pole assessment and treatment experience; two (2) years may be considered with a qualifying wood-science or engineering degree where client requirements allow.
- Current pesticide/commercial applicator license applicable to wood-pole treatment in the state(s) of assignment, or ability to obtain before mobilization where permitted.
- Demonstrated experience supervising pole inspection/treatment crews and applying utility-specific inspection standards and formal QC processes.
- Demonstrated competency in sounding, boring, ground line excavation, decay measurement, treatment selection/application, restoration, and QC reinspection.
- Strong field leadership, coaching, documentation, client communication, analytical, and multi-crew planning skills; valid driver's license required.
- Experience managing multi-crew PAPR, ground line inspection, or pole-life-extension programs.
- Experience mobilizing new territories, training local hires, and integrating approved subcontract crews.
