Job Summary

The Wall Panel Estimator performs a variety of professional and/or technical truss, wall panel and building estimating activities using various software and estimating applications. Responsible for quickly conducting accurate estimates for projects awarded by the sales staff and customers to be presented as bids to acquire additional business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
  • Collect information from customers, contractors and/or sales staff and develop estimates for jobs based on the information collected within project deadlines.
  • Prepare wall panel and related component take-offs, including material, labor, and installation costs.
  • Develop, revise, and submit bids, quotes, and proposals; present estimates to Sales and internal stakeholders.
  • Calculate labor and material costs and identify cost-saving or value-engineered solutions while maintaining compliance.
  • Incorporate or eliminate products and materials in the best interest of the project and company.
  • Develop preliminary wall panel and truss drawings using CAD and estimating software as needed.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, and Production to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Revise estimates and drawings based on design changes, customer requests, or change orders.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation and records.
  • Support manufacturing by assisting with issue resolution during production.
  • Communicate job status, timelines, and expectations with internal teams, contractors, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience in construction estimating, framing, or truss/panel production;
    Associate’s degree or related education preferred.
  • Experience with wall panels, trusses, millwork, or related trades preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software;
    MiTek drafting and estimating experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly geometry.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, digital take-off tools, Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods and framing practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs and work in yard or production environments as needed.
