Our brand-new, 700,000-square-foot Asian-style food manufacturing facility in Sioux Falls, SD, is taking shape — and we’re ramping up hiring for key roles. What You Will Do:- Drive compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain and implement PSM and RMP program elements, including documentation, updates, submissions, and audits.
- Partner with Safety, EHS, Maintenance, and Refrigeration teams to ensure ammonia system reliability, operability, and compliance.
- Facilitate and document PHAs, revalidations, project hazard reviews, and incident investigations, including root cause analyses and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), contractor management, and Hot Work Permit programs.
- Support development and maintenance of operating procedures, training programs, and certification requirements for employees and contractors.
- Assist with inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability programs for ammonia systems.
- Consult, coach, and mentor leaders and refrigeration staff on PSM, RMP, company standards, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with site leadership on emergency planning, Haz Mat response, technical recommendations, and project support.
- Ensure PSM-related recommendations are reviewed and addressed by facility management in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PSM, EHS, or process safety within manufacturing, food, or agricultural environments.
- Working knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulatory requirements; ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
- Familiarity with hazard analysis methodologies (e.g., What-If, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Experience facilitating training, meetings, or safety-related initiatives.
- Project management skills with the ability to apply critical thinking to technical and operational challenges.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance or PSM management systems (APSM experience a plus).
The base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $97,500 annually, with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
