** Position Highlights**##

* Position Summary:

**## An Exercise Specialist performs electrocardiogram (ECG) tests on patients while they exercise. The technician monitors the patient's heart rate, blood pressure, and pain levels to accumulate data about their heart function.##
** Responsibilities:*
* • Explains procedure to the patient and complete consent form.
• Prep skin to obtain good EKG tracing.
• Use proper electrode placement and equipment set up.  
• Obtain manual BP’s and follow the correct stress protocol.##
• Monitor patients for safety during exercise.
• Document ongoing patient vitals during and after the stress test.##
• Enter all patient data accurately into the stress report.##
• Maintain ECG equipment and lab.##

** Work Environment:**## May be required to deal with unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or patient activity.##
** Education/

Experience:

**** High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor in Exercise Science preferred
**** Completion of CAN program, Medical Assistant Program or like program required. 2-3 years of cardiac patient care experience with strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.**##
** Licensure/Certification:**## None Required.
