Responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations.

Job Description

• Understands testing equipment: structure, function, use, effects on patients, and maintenance
• Applies anatomy and physiology principles (normal and abnormal) to procedures
• Has working knowledge of diseases and pathological conditions
• May perform:
  • Intraoperative monitoring
  • Evoked potentials
  • Nerve conduction studies
  • EEG testing

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved program of Electroneuro diagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred. Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.

Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is required. Completion of department approved training program is required.

Required credentials of one or more of the followings:
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT), Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (REPT), Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT), or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologists (R.NCS.T). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
