This role ensures employees receive accurate, timely, and compliant benefits support while also providing cross‑functional assistance to the Payroll/HRIS Specialist, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Employee Engagement Specialist. The People Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in delivering positive and well‑supported employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

This role ensures employees receive accurate, timely, and compliant benefits support while also providing cross‑functional assistance to the Payroll/HRIS Specialist, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Employee Engagement Specialist. The People Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in delivering positive and well‑supported employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
HYBRID (SIOUX FALLS, SD)
- Serve as primary point of contact for HR Team inquiries, routing inquiries to appropriate team members.
- Create and maintain employee change forms and supporting documents (including checklists, change notices, offer letters, etc.)
- Assist in maintaining accurate employee records and personnel files within the HRIS.
- Coordinate onboarding activities including leading New Employee Experience program, new hire documentation, HRIS support, and benefit enrollment.
- Support offboarding from notice to final separation, confirming important dates, communicating with payroll, and updating records.
- Assist with HR metrics, compliance reporting, and audits.
- Research and complete employee verification requests in a timely manner.
- Provide general HR administrative support and employee-facing assistance as needed.
- Administer day-to-day employee benefit programs, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, FMLA, paid leave, and work comp.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit and leave inquiries and issue resolution.
- Support new hire enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain accurate benefits data within HRIS and vendor systems.
- Coordinate with Payroll to ensure benefit deductions and related transactions are processed accurately.
- Partner with benefit brokers, carriers, and vendors to resolve issues and support effective program administration.
- Collaborate on benefit communications, educational materials, and employee resources.
- Support compliance with applicable benefits regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and state paid leave programs.
- Assist with benefits audits, reporting requirements, renewal processes, and vendor management activities.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing and related administrative activities.
- Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries when serving as backup
- Assist with payroll-related audits and data validation as needed.
- Provide back‑up support for recruiting activities as needed, including but not limited to: resume review, candidate screening, etc.
