Finance & Development Director

Overview

Finance Director and Development Director role combining finance oversight and development work.

Location:

Sioux Falls, SD (on-site). Relocation expense coverage offered.

Salary: $175k - $215k per year plus discretionary bonus.

• The Finance Director role supervises the Controller and four accountants, providing strong board presence.
• Develop and measure KPIs, forecast, and align long-term budgeting with business goals.
• Partner with General Managers to review financial performance, set targets, and drive improved outcomes across each property.
• Partner with external partners on audit, bank financing, and insurance management.
• The Development position assists the President in locating new construction hotels: site selection, financial proformas, bidding, construction contractor selection, and construction oversight.
• Assist the President in locating existing hotels for sale: develop pro forma, conduct due diligence, review franchise, determine suitability.
• Determine if a 1031 will be considered for the sale of the asset.
• Price hotels for sale.
• Oversee franchise Product Improvement Plans (PIPs) at existing hotels: bidding, construction contractor selection, budgeting, purchasing, and construction oversight.
• Track schedules and progress of general contractors.

• Experience overseeing multiple upscale limited or limited-service hotels with development experience in a company with over 10 hotels.
• Minimum 8 years of upscale limited hotel operations experience. No food or beverage experience required.
• Minimum 4 years in Development: construction, PIPs, hotel & land acquisitions, sale of hotels.
• Attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
• Some travel required (less than 20% time).
