Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to dialysis patients.
Job Description
- Coordinate care, assess patients, provide patient education, and perform various other nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate dialysis care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and use age- and population-specific standards in the assigned dialysis clinical setting.
- Practice within the scopes and standards of nursing as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
- Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics with Interpretive Statements, and Sanford Nursing Practice standards as the foundation of care delivery and professional conduct.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in compliance with applicable standards/regulations.
- Utilize technology to enhance quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and inter-professional team members, and effectively delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel; maintain overall nursing accountability for patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs and/or possess multistate licensure if in an NLC state.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific licensure, competencies and certifications.
