Our Child Nutrition staff play an integral part in serving our mission to continuously improve meals and services to meet nutritional requirements, provide a variety of menu items, and give the healthiest choices with the freshest ingredients available.

Requirements Education Level

High school diploma

Physical Requirements

Refer to physical demand summary. Post-offer drug screening and physical (funded by the District) required prior to starting position.

Other Requirements

Vocational training desirable in chef's training or any associate degree program in a related field. Valid South Dakota driver's license. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Essential Functions & Duties

Prepares cooked foods such as main dishes, vegetables, sauces and gravies.

Keeps production records for preparation and serving of all food used.

Washes all small equipment after completion of task and in accordance with South Dakota sanitation and health guidelines.

Adjusts recipes for varying quantities.

Keeps work area clean with guidelines of South Dakota sanitation health regulations.

Stores leftover food according to proper storage and safety procedures.

Evaluates menu items for product standards.

Follows safety procedures in the use of all equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay Information

Level GX, starting at $19.59 per hour.

Hours & FTE

Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm with a working lunch.
1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 9 months.
