The cashier is responsible for providing positive and friendly customer service. The cashier will operate a cash register to total customers’ purchases and accept payments, verifying all prices and quantities are accurate.

• Greet all customers with a smile and friendly attitude
• Record prices, subtotal taxable items, and total purchases on cash register
• Collect acceptable forms of payment from customer and make change for cash transactions
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad
• Review price sheets to note price changes and sale items
• Maintain a neat and clean register area
• Fill pop coolers, tobacco, and candy displays
• Verify proper identification when accepting checks and for purchases of tobacco and/or alcohol
• Additional duties assigned by management

• Must be neat and clean in appearance
• Eagerness to help customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Must be a self-starter
• Willingness to take direction when needed
• Ability to maintain composure when dealing with challenging situations
• Ability and desire to learn new skills

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Must be able to constantly operate a cash register
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation

• High school diploma or equivalent required (or in progress)
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
• Basic math and computer skills
