Armed Security Officer PT

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a part‑time Armed Security Officer to be located at the Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls, SD. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety and protection of EROS government facilities and personnel, including but not limited to: patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, access points, and permitting entry.

Minimum hourly rate: $20.12. Health & Welfare hourly rate: $5.09 (plus differential pay for night or swing shifts).

The Security Officer will provide support at the USGS, Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Security Officer will provide support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Shift times: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; and 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

• 21 years of age or older with a valid license
• Background check (criminal/financial)
• Physical fitness test
• Drug screen
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (issued by ADC)
• Weapons qualification course completed
