Alliance Construction is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet supporting earthwork, underground utility, and demolition operations.
We are looking for someone with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who can diagnose equipment issues, make sound repair decisions, and work independently on jobsites. Shop work will be included as needed.
What You’ll Work OnOur fleet includes excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, graders, compactors, trucks, trailers, and demolition attachments.
Typical work includes:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain issues
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled services
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns in the field
- Complete equipment repairs in the shop as needed
- Assist with repairs on trucks, side dumps, end dumps, and other on-road equipment
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed
- Repair and maintain buckets, hammers, grapples, shears, and other attachments
- Identify recurring problems and help determine the best long-term repair
- Communicate repair needs, parts requirements, and equipment status with the Shop Coordinator and other mechanics
- Document completed repairs and maintenance
- Work safely and efficiently to minimize equipment downtime
- 2+ years of heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, truck, or related mechanical experience
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical ability
- Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, and drive trains
- Ability to work independently and make sound repair decisions in the field
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Own basic personal mechanic tools
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL preferred, but not required
- Dependable and safety-minded
