Are you passionate about the outdoors and eager for a dynamic, hands‑on role? Join us for an unforgettable summer as a Camp Host in breathtaking Silver Bay. This unique role offers the opportunity of hosting guests at our remote Silver Bay Homestead. You’ll work under the direct supervision of the Lead Camp Host when at the Homestead, where you’ll be responsible for setting the scene as guests disembark, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

You’ll be the first face they see, then help them feel at home, guide them around the site, and even share captivating stories around the campfire! This role offers the perfect balance of on‑water adventure and land‑based guest interaction, supported by a seasoned team of professionals ready to make your experience unforgettable.

Essential Qualities & Qualifications
  • Experience operating small craft is preferred, but not required.

  • Must be able to work as a team with other crew to provide quality experience for customers.

  • Must have interest in engaging with guests and sharing information and stories. Experience with public speaking/storytelling is preferred, but not required.

  • Must be able to lift and move objects of up to 50 lbs. as required.

  • Must be able to work varied shift hours, including weekends and holidays. Days off will be scheduled but must be willing to be flexible in meeting tour demand.

  • Must be clean, well‑groomed, courteous, honest, reliable and on time.

  • Must be able to work independently and anticipate tour operational needs.

Camp Host Responsibilities
  • Drive a small vessel out to the work site for daily duties.

  • Prepare a campfire in anticipation of guests which includes chopping wood/kindling and cleaning out the inside stove/outside fire pit.

  • Develop knowledge/background of the area and be able to present that information to guests in a storytelling manner.

  • Prepare snacks in anticipation of guests' arrival while maintaining the cleanliness of the homestead.

Camp Host Responsibilities‑in addition to the responsibilities above,
  • In general, provide an educational and fun experience through delivery of informative narrative, good storytelling, and appropriate conversation (adjust to suit groups’ communication styles, or “read the room”).

Pay

DOE, starting at $22.00 per hour. This is a seasonal full‑time position from mid‑April to the end of September. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work through the end of the season without interruption. An end of season bonus will be paid to employees who complete their contract in good standing.
