Overview
CT/XR Tech role at South East Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC). SEARHC is a non-profit health consortium serving residents of Southeast Alaska. The Radiologic Technologist provides care appropriate to the patient age on their assigned unit, demonstrates knowledge of growth and development, and interprets information needed to identify patient needs in accordance with unit policies and procedures.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $38.93 - $54.76
Relocation
$10K Relocation for qualified hire
- Must provide radiographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation and exercise professional judgment in procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
- Perform diagnostic medical radiography within the department and other areas.
- Maintain patient records and files.
- Assume responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program.
- Pursue continuing education.
- Transfer patient to and from radiology.
- In absence of supervisor, assume responsibility of department.
- Rotate shifts as required.
- Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
- Follow policies and procedures as set by SEARHC Administration.
- Assist in general hygiene of department and self; work well under stress.
- Willing to take call and report to work within 20 minutes.
- Willing to learn other imaging modalities as Manager sees fit.
- Be able to perform duties in two fields of imaging and willing to work outside of modality, e.g., XR, MRI, CT, Mammography.
- Maintain competency in ancillary modality; perform other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for care of equipment in this area; responsible for record maintenance.
- Assist with invasive procedures and knowledge of these procedures.
- Participate in preparation for procedures in this area; consult with referring physicians.
- Strive toward venipuncture goals; follow standard precautions.
- Adapt protocols for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients; adjust contrast levels by age group.
- Set up and operate automatic injector; understand contraindications of contrast.
- Competent in tele-radiology transmission and sterile technique.
- Assist in supply inventory and ordering; perform daily/weekly QC.
- Current ARRT in Radiography
- Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to the assigned modality
- Tech I – ARRT in one modality (e.g., general radiography)
- Tech II – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in two modalities/ARDMS categories
- Tech III – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in three modalities
- Tech IV – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) certified in four modalities
Travel may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites.
