Public Health Nurse 3 – Sitka, Alaska
We invite you to join the Department of Health as a Public Health Nurse 3 in Sitka. Your work will protect and promote the health of Alaskan communities.
Responsibilities- Provide health screenings, preventive care, and infectious disease monitoring.
- Conduct community health assessments and lead improvement initiatives.
- Deliver expert‑level care in remote Alaskan communities, traveling by boat or small aircraft as needed.
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
- CPR Certification.
- BSN from an accredited college or an MSN in Nursing.
- Experience in community or public health nursing.
- Adaptability – adjust work plans in a changing environment.
- Self‑management – set realistic goals and work independently.
- Analytical thinking – use systematic approaches to solve problems.
- Partnering – collaborate across boundaries to achieve shared goals.

Working EnvironmentPosition is located in Sitka, an island community in Southeast Alaska. The Public Health Center offers ample parking and convenient access to local services. Remote travel to outlying communities is required.
