Description

Alaska Northstar Federal is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to join a long‑term project. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders, cross‑functional technical teams, and end users to advance user‑centric design and accessibility best practices in accordance with federal and DoD standards.

Responsibilities

• Build, script, and test Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Compliance as Code (CaC) to apply security configuration(s) to cloud resources upon or after deployment.
• Write CaC and IaC for both cloud‑native service deployment and hosted application deployment to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Provide cloud‑service expertise to cloud‑deployed applications, assisting application developers with integrating application‑specific components.
• Secure cloud‑service and application resources according to industry standards and cloud provider best practices; collect and provide evidence for security‑baseline adherence.
• Prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of IaC, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of IaC intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Work within an Agile SDLC framework: perform tasks in two‑to‑three‑week sprints, participate in daily scrums, and use sprint tracking software to communicate work to stakeholders.
• Build disconnected systems that can separate from and rejoin cloud environments.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Active Security+ CE (or equivalent).
• At least 10 years of experience in secure enclave architecture and deployment;
  Oracle Cloud Infrastructure; infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform); scoping, work breakdown, and cost estimation for new system capabilities, onboarding, and migration; KPI and metric understanding for infrastructure and security; security monitoring and threat analysis;
  Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe);
  Dev Ops pipelines and practices (CI/CD); stakeholder communication; documentation; team collaboration; ticket management and facilitation; alignment of software development and system engineering with federal regulatory requirements.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience setting up and managing Impact Level (IL) 2, IL4, and IL5 environments (DoD Cloud and security standards).
• Proficiency in conducting TIMs and managing migration task life cycles.
• Experience integrating Oracle Cloud Infrastructure PaaS and IaaS components.
• Experience with disconnected operations.
