The goal of the After-School Prevention Specialist position is to implement and expand healthy social emotional programs such as Girls on the Run (GOTR) and Boys Run I toowú klatseen (BRITK) for children and their families in Sitka, Alaska. This position will collaborate with partner agencies, including the Sitka School District and other social service agencies affiliated with the local prevention coalition, Pathways to a Safer Sitka, to effectively implement after-school prevention programs.

They’ll develop weekly public service announcements that are shared in the local newspaper and on the radio to expand the messages of the programs to the community. They will also manage program evaluation (e.g. administering pre- and post-season surveys) and reporting to ensure the programs are meeting their objectives and improvements can be made in the future.
