Maintenance Support Technician

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Support Technician to join a well-established fresh produce business based in Sittingbourne, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working within a production, manufacturing, engineering, or factory environment to join a fast-paced FMCG operation supporting the Engineering team on night shift operations.

The Role

Working as part of the Engineering team, you will support Shift Maintenance Engineers with preventative maintenance tasks and deep cleaning of production machinery to ensure equipment operates efficiently and downtime is minimised.

This role will involve working around production machinery, removing guards and barriers under supervision, carrying out cleaning activities to hygiene standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Shift Maintenance Engineers with preventative maintenance activities

• Carry out deep cleaning of production machinery and surrounding areas

• Remove and refit guards and barriers safely under supervision

• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed to required standards

• Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and Health & Safety

• Use cleaning equipment, hand tools, and materials safely and correctly

• Report faulty equipment or maintenance concerns promptly

• Complete all required documentation accurately

• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and Hygiene teams

• Support site KPI targets and operational performance standards

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, FMCG, or factory environments

• Experience working around machinery or supporting maintenance operations would be advantageous

• Good understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene standards

• Comfortable working permanent night shifts

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good attention to detail and strong work ethic

• Good written and spoken English

• Own transport is preferred due to shift times and location

Shift Pattern

• Night Shift – 18:00–06:00 4 on 4 off
