Position: Quality Controller (Food Production)

Quality Controller - Food Production

Location: Sittingbourne
Pay: £13.00 per hour

Hours:
6:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 10:00pm (rotational shifts)

Contract: Temp to Perm
Days: Monday to Friday

Requirement: Must have a full driving licence and own transport due to the rural location.

About the Role

We are recruiting a Quality Controller to join a busy food production team based at a fruit farm in Sittingbourne. While the business grows fruit, this role is based within the production facility where jams, pie fillings and sauces are manufactured.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Test and record pH levels of jams, sauces and pie fillings.
  • Monitor production to ensure products meet required quality standards.
  • Produce, check and prepare dispatch labels using computer systems.
  • Check and prepare dispatch paperwork, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure all ingredients and allergens are accurately listed on product labels.
  • Complete and maintain accurate quality records and production documentation.
  • Use computer systems to update records, complete checks and support the dispatch process.
  • Ensure products meet food safety, customer and company requirements.
  • Maintain high food safety and quality standards at all times.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous quality control or food production experience is desirable.
  • Good understanding of food safety and quality procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literate and confident using systems to check and prepare dispatch paperwork, labels and production records.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport is essential.
  • Reliable with a positive, proactive work ethic.
