Newcastle upon Tyne About the Role We are working with a leading organisation who are building a brand new Software Engineering team in Newcastle. They are looking to hire multiple Software Engineers across Junior, Mid-level, and Senior levels. Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must hold active SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, work on meaningful and technically interesting projects, and shape the direction of a newly formed engineering function.

Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
* Work collaboratively within agile, cross-functional teams.
* Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design.
* Build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.
* Participate in code reviews and promote best engineering practices.
* Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in production.
* Mentor junior engineers (for mid and senior level roles). Required Skills & Experience We are open to candidates from a wide range of technical backgrounds. The technology stack is flexible, but experience in some of the following is highly desirable:
Programming

Languages:

* Python, C++, Go, Rust Cloud & Dev Ops:
* AWS or other major cloud platforms
* CI/CD pipelines
* Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
* Monitoring and logging tools General:
* Strong software engineering fundamentals
* Experience working in agile environments
* Good problem-solving and communication skills
* Understanding of secure development practices Security Clearance
* Active SC Clearance OR eligibility to obtain SC Clearance is mandatory.
* Must have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years. Experience Levels Junior:
* 0-2 years commercial experience
* Strong fundamentals and eagerness to learn Mid-Level:
* 2-5 years commercial experience
* Ability to work independently and contribute to design Senior:
* 5 years commercial experience
