Overview
We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin's Buffets Department based in Skegness. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and assist in leading a large team of chefs, including stepping up in the Kitchen Manager's absence.
Responsibilities- Support running the kitchen and lead a large team of chefs; step in during the Kitchen Manager's absence.
- Monitor guest experience and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement; lead daily briefings; manage stock control; review presentation of food.
- Deliver food cost budgets through menu planning, cooking to standards and specifications; maintain accountability for food hygiene standards and health and safety in line with legislation and company policies.
- Be a role model for Butlin’s values; ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place; inspire the team to deliver a great guest experience.
- Lead and develop the skills of the team in the main buffet restaurant serving guests on half-board dining packages.
- Possess strong leadership, time management and organisational skills to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (can serve up to 3000 guests per service).
- Maintain hard work, reliability and a drive to find better ways to consistently deliver brand standards.
- Build and develop relationships with leaders and teams across the resort.
- Pass Level 3 Food Safety qualification and lead a team to deliver high standards in a busy kitchen.
- Manage margins and control costs; oversee health, safety and hygiene.
- Be fun, engaged, and collaborative to ensure guests have a great time every visit.
- Work a 5-day week over 7 days, 40 hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Role does not include onsite accommodation.
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification (required).
- Experience in a similar level role with large volume turnover; ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership, communication and guest-service focus.
