Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire
Salary: £30,000-£38,000, depending on experience

Bennett & Game are pleased to represent an established specialist contractor appointing a Junior Estimator based from their regional office in Skelmersdale.
The company delivers groundworks and reinforced concrete structures packages across the building and civil engineering sectors, with projects typically valued between £5 million and £30 million.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, trainee or construction professional looking to develop a career in estimating. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Estimators and receive structured training, mentoring and hands‑on exposure to live tenders.
Junior Estimator Job Overview- Assist with preparing competitive tenders from construction drawings and specifications
- Measure and take off quantities from technical and construction drawings
- Support the preparation of rates and estimates under the guidance of senior Estimators
- Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist with reviewing tender documentation and preparing submissions
- Raise technical queries with clients and design teams where required
- Support the management of multiple live tenders at different stages
- Attend tender review and project handover meetings
- Develop an understanding of commercial risks and value‑engineering opportunities
- Assist with the handover of successful tenders to construction delivery teams
- Develop technical and commercial knowledge through practical experience and mentoring
Job Requirements
- HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Relevant construction industry experience may also be considered
- Placement, trainee or site experience within construction, groundworks or reinforced concrete would be advantageous
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a commercial team
- Based within a commutable distance of Skelmersdale
