School Site Supervisor

Location: Skelmersdale
Contract Type: Part-time, Temporary - Long-term ongoing
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-8:30am and 3:00pm-5:30pm (split shift)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hands-on School Site Supervisor to join a busy school in Skelmersdale.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance, caretaking or facilities experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

As the School Site Supervisor, you will play an important role in the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are well maintained, safe, secure and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the security, safety and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds.
  • Carry out general DIY, painting and minor maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the premises remain clean, safe and presentable for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Carry out regular health and safety checks and report or address any issues appropriately.
  • Set up and prepare classrooms, halls and other areas for school events, meetings and activities.
  • Ensure the school site is secure and appropriately prepared at the beginning and end of each working day.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, site management or maintenance role.
  • Good practical skills and confidence carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance.
  • Experience with DIY and painting tasks.
  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures and best practices.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively.
  • A reliable, organised and proactive approach to work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Availability to start as soon as possible.
