Brooklands is a specialist school providing high-quality education for pupils with a wide range of complex needs. Our pupils are aged from 4-19. There are currently 130 children and young people on roll.
The Headteacher and Governing Body of Brooklands School are seeking to recruit a School Administrator. This role requires a dedicated, flexible and organised person who will approach work with a positive attitude, honesty, confidentiality and integrity.
This is a varied role that encompasses general administration with finance; the role will involve:
- Using advisory and negotiation skills on a regular basis, e.g. obtaining quotes and negotiating with suppliers for the best price on office supplies & advising staff on administrative procedures
- Using some analytical and judgemental skills when interpreting information, e.g. directing parents with problems/queries to the appropriate person
- Assist in the induction of new employees
- Providing HR support, attendance management
- More in- depth knowledge of financial and administrative procedures/systems.
- Use of analytical skills e.g. analyse and interpret data for reports
- Undertake the administration of all accounts relating to the school, including handling of small amounts of cash, payments of bills and invoices, reconciliation of bank statements and preparation of month end returns etc.
- Contribute to monitoring budgets/ sums of money under £20,
- Produce documents for the school e.g. newsletters, brochures
- Responsible for confidential information e.g. pupil and staff records
- Assists in preparing reports
- Administration support of school lettings
- The requirement to develop plans/timetables/solutions in response to issues that arise, e.g. arranging supply cover
