Academics is seeking a strong, motivated, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Skipton. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who thrives on driving progress, building pupil confidence, and ensuring children are fully prepared for the transition to secondary school.

The Role - Year 6 Teacher

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
Prepare pupils effectively for SATs, ensuring strong progress across Reading, Writing and Maths
Use assessment data to inform planning and raise attainment
Create a structured, purposeful and supportive classroom environment
Provide targeted intervention to support and stretch pupils of all abilities
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
Foster independence, resilience and confidence ahead of transition to Year 7
Contribute positively to the wider school community

What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs frameworks
Excellent behaviour management and high expectations for all pupils
Ability to raise attainment and demonstrate measurable impact
Strong organisational and communication skills
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
