Academics is seeking a strong, motivated, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Skipton. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who thrives on driving progress, building pupil confidence, and ensuring children are fully prepared for the transition to secondary school.

The Role - Year 6 Teacher

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
  • Prepare pupils effectively for SATs, ensuring strong progress across Reading, Writing and Maths
  • Use assessment data to inform planning and raise attainment
  • Create a structured, purposeful and supportive classroom environment
  • Provide targeted intervention to support and stretch pupils of all abilities
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Foster independence, resilience and confidence ahead of transition to Year 7
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs frameworks
  • Excellent behaviour management and high expectations for all pupils
  • Ability to raise attainment and demonstrate measurable impact
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
