Primary Teacher; PDA North Yorkshire

Overview

Academics are currently recruiting a compassionate and adaptable Primary Supply Teacher with experience supporting pupils with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile to work across our partner primary schools in Skipton and the surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for a teacher with experience across the primary age range who is confident working in different school settings and skilled in using flexible, low-demand, relationship-based approaches to support children with additional needs.

• Have experience teaching within primary school settings
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and effective classroom strategies
• Be confident delivering pre-planned lessons while adapting expectations to meet individual pupil needs
• Use a calm, nurturing and emotionally informed approach to behaviour and regulation
• Maintain positive classroom routines while recognising the need for flexibility
• Be professional, reliable and adaptable for short-term, long-term or emergency cover
• Adjust quickly to different school environments, staff teams and expectations

• Competitive daily rates (£140–£170 per day, dependent on experience and role)
• Day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements available
• Weekly pay through Academics
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant with SEND knowledge
