SEN - Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming generic special school
, supporting pupils with diverse needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, non-verbal communication, sensory differences, and complex learning profiles.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in a special school, you will:

• Support pupils across a range of needs within small, nurturing classes.
• Provide both 1:1 and group support to help pupils access learning and regulate emotionally.
• Assist with differentiated learning activities and therapeutic approaches.
• Use communication tools such as PECs, visual timetables, and interaction-based strategies.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver holistic, child-centred support.
• Promote independence, personal development, and confidence in each pupil’s daily routine.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, or community settings).
• A calm, patient, and caring approach.
• Someone resilient, adaptable, and committed to helping every child succeed.
• Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to learn new strategies and interventions.
