Proposals Engineer

Our client is a small specialist niche Engineering design and build contractor who deliver projects for both municipal and industrial clean water, and wastewater treatment. They specialise in the Mechanical & Electrical products and services for water clients throughout the UK. Due to continuous growth and project awards, they are looking to recruit a Proposals Engineer.

You will support and contribute to the preparation, coordination, and delivery of high-quality proposals and cost estimates for multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects. You will be working on a flexible hybrid basis with requirement to travel into their head office in Skipton 2
-3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary proposals for the water and wastewater industry, working closely with the Senior Proposals Team and wider engineering functions.

* Manage supplier RFQ’s, evaluate quotations, and maintain accurate procurement and cost documentation.

* Engage with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify scope, technical requirements and commercial assumptions.

* Review specifications and tender drawings to confirm technical compliance and identify gaps, risks or assumptions.

* Prepare and assist in the development of cost estimates, including quantity take-offs, benchmarking and supporting build ups.

* Compile tender submissions incorporating all technical, commercial and governance inputs.

* Participate in tender reviews and lessons-learned activities to continuously improve estimating quality and consistency.

Qualifications, Skills, and

Experience:

* ONC/HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.

* Previous experience in estimating, proposals, project support or a similar technical role.

* Exposure to water/wastewater projects preferred.

* Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within deadlines
