At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.
What You’ll DoThis is a high-impact role with influence across the whole Society. Working closely with the Head of Finance, Home Financing and Money, you'll be a trusted partner to senior leaders, bringing together commercial thinking, financial expertise and a clear view of what’s happening inside and outside Skipton. Your insight will help shape choices, unlock opportunities and strengthen performance across our businesses and enabling functions.
- Shape the big decisions, turning financial, commercial and market insight into clear choices that move the Society’s strategic priorities forward.
- Bring the story behind the numbers to life, connecting performance, pricing, margin and balance sheet dynamics to highlight opportunities, risks and the actions that matter most.
- Partner with and constructively challenge senior leaders across the Society, helping them navigate trade-offs, test ideas and make confident decisions with long-term value in mind.
- Influence the Society’s future through planning, forecasting, stress testing and change, creating a more joined-up and forward-looking approach across Finance and the wider organisation.
You’ll be someone who sees beyond the numbers. Commercially curious and confident with senior stakeholders, you'll make complexity feel simple and bring the judgement, courage and credibility to influence important decisions across the Society.
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA, or strong equivalent experience, alongside a track record in senior finance, commercial or business partnering roles.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect data, market trends and financial outcomes, ideally gained in banking, building societies or broader retail financial services.
- A natural ability to build trust, communicate with impact and offer constructive challenge, including turning complex analysis into a clear and compelling story.
- A proactive and curious approach: you look ahead, spot what others may miss and turn problems into practical solutions, while role-modelling our behaviours of being accountable, curious, collaborative and brave.
Your work matters. And the way we reward you matters, too. At Skipton, we offer pay and benefits that really do make life better, together with a genuine thank you for making a difference.
