Position: Teaching Assistant. Job Education & Training Jobs

Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support

Location: Sleaford NG34

Pay: £90 - £106 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am‑3:45pm (term‑time)

Contract: Long‑term to permanent

Start: ASAP

A role with real purpose. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to support young people who benefit from steady guidance, clear routines and a supportive environment. You will be joining a specialist SEMH setting where relationships, emotional understanding and consistency are at the heart of everything they do. We are looking for someone who enjoys building connections, brings a calm and encouraging approach, and is committed to helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and a sense of success.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing reliable 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assisting with structured activities and personalised learning tasks
  • Building trusting relationships that help pupils feel grounded and understood
  • Encouraging positive choices through supportive, nurturing strategies
  • Contributing to a classroom atmosphere that feels consistent, safe and predictable
  • Getting involved in practical, hands‑on learning both indoors and outdoors
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or SEND
  • Confidence supporting SEMH needs or behaviour‑related challenges
  • A warm, steady approach and the ability to stay composed in busy situations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers and progress
