The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers a high‑quality, guest‑focused service experience. Support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) in achieving service sales, productivity, guest service, and process compliance.

• Perform hair services including design, cutting, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Meet or exceed the $800 average weekly sales goal and productivity targets for hair services, supporting overall store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding key drivers and opportunities for growth.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Assist with in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that provide an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Exhibit high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, efficiently and timely.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to deliver a total‑store guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Advocate the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Adhere to Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures in accordance with state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistency and excellence.
• Use booking and clientele systems to ensure guest readiness.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM.
• Maintain cleanliness of the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by implementing loss‑prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in the latest salon techniques for cutting, coloring, lightening, styling, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing where applicable and/or an aptitude to develop skills across all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals required for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Skill in building and maintaining strong customer relationships and a clientele base.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous or frequent coordination/manipulation of objects.
