Management Accountant – Slough – Hybrid Working
The RoleA globally successful organisation in the manufacturing sector are looking for a Management Accountant to join their established team based in Slough. You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process while supporting manufacturing operations through detailed cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and inventory management. You will play a key role in helping the business improve efficiency, control costs and maximise profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and KPI reporting.
- Produce detailed manufacturing performance reports, analysing key variances against budget and forecast.
- Partner with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight and recommendations.
- Analyse production costs, labour utilisation and overhead absorption rates.
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate accounting for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
- Support stock count programmes and ensure robust inventory controls are maintained.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements across the manufacturing function.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against targets and provide recommendations to improve results.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with financial controls.
- Prepare and submit UK, Irish and German VAT returns.
- Contribute to improvements in reporting processes, systems and controls.
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and has a strong understanding of manufacturing finance.
You will ideally have- ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification, or be actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
- Previous management accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing and variance analysis.
- Experience managing inventory accounting and stock-related financial processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
