What you’ll be doing :
Be at the heart of a transforming Council. This is a key role within the Council’s Corporate Programme Management Office (PMO), responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day operation and continued development of the PMO across the Council’s Transformation and Improvement portfolios. You will provide governance, assurance, portfolio reporting, standards and practical project management support across a diverse range of projects and programmes.
You will coordinate corporate reporting and governance activity, including supporting forums such as the Design Authority and Transformation Board, maintaining clear action and decision records, and helping ensure submissions are complete and decision ready. You will make sure colleagues can access and use the Council’s project management framework, tools, templates and guidance, and will work closely with the Head of Programmes and Change, the Transformation Delivery Partner and teams across the organisation to build consistent standards and stronger project delivery capability.
You will also work with Project Managers, Service Leads and Sponsors to provide practical PMO advice and support. This will include helping teams strengthen plans, understand risks and dependencies, and improve delivery confidence. Where a project is struggling, you may support a practical health check to help identify what needs to change.
The aim is a Corporate PMO that combines appropriate governance and assurance with practical, proportionate support - helping colleagues to deliver successfully rather than adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
